FINDING WHAT IS OURS WORKSHOP

TUESDAY 23RD MARCH 2024 11:00am - 4:30pm

TO REGISTER YOUR INTEREST PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW

This workshop is for African/African-Caribbean people with an interest in history.

Participants will use the beta-version of the ‘Sloane Lab’ digital portal to search for African/African Caribbean histories. This will help the project team understand the kinds of questions we want to ask this digital knowledge base so the platform can be made more accessible to us.

Participants will also be asked for feedback on the warnings used on the site in relation to problematic language. The final session of the day will invite contributions to a forthcoming symposium that will explore the issues the ‘Sloane Lab’ knowledge base raises in more detail.

Participants will be paid a fee (£200) for attending this workshop and lunch will be provided.

The Sloane Lab is one of five ‘Discovery Projects’ of Towards a National Collection, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Spaces are very limited so sign up below ASAP.
