(Re)actions in Dub, versions, excursions and counter-actions
Dub is reconstituted sound. Rhythm is key.
'Dub Poetry', preserves the rhythm, but through the vocal. Poet speaks and his/her lineage is exposed. Over thirty years after the inception of the form, it is striking how many of the issues addressed by the first so-called dub poets remain with us today; affecting us all to varying degrees.
We used a series of workshop sessions to collectively explore our ideas of lineage, memory, archive and action. We used Dub and Dub poetry as our catalyst and we worked with Mutabaruka, Akala and many others to explore.
